WTF?!

They Veyron is a brilliant car, with over $3 Million dollars to produce with only a cool $1 Million dollar price tag. Simon Cowell, Ralph Lauren, and anyone with land that has an oil well out in the Middle-East has one. And now you can, as well, since, eBay has the "Low Monthly Payments" option. I wonder what their definition of "Low" is. Now if I was buying a used Corolla, this might make some sense...but surely not for a Bugatti.

Why didn't they have stuff like this when I was growing up? (moved from my other blog)

Found this while I was wasting some time online today....not sure which model it's supposed to be, as it's labeled "Audi Mini Quattro". Looks sort of like the new TT-perhaps it's the cabrio? Either way, I'd have to disagree with the "Quattro" designation as I doubt that it has the famed all-wheel drive system. It looks like it's using FFLD, or Fred Flintstone Leg Drive, which would make it 2 wheel, err foot, drive.

Kids these days with their iPods and high-definition video games. All I had was a Big-Wheel...and then a yellow tractor. Surprisingly though, both were for shit in the Buffalo winters.

Welcome!

2007 is an exciting time to be alive. Never in the history of the world has there been a period of time where there has been so much freedom. Whether or not you want to consider taking your shoes off to get through airport security or being limited to how fast you may travel in your car, freedom is widely available to many parts of the world. With few limitations (such as the ones I have previously mentioned) and technology to do almost whatever you want, it's no wonder that Time Magazine named You (me, you, everyone) the Person of the Year. It is because of this freedom, I have decided to create my own Auto-Blahg (auto blog). As if there weren't enough blogs about cars in the first place, I have decided to toss my hat into the ring.

The purpose of this blog is double-sided. The first, is that this will serve as my own "resume" of the sorts- so that I will have an ongoing sample of my work, so in the event that Brian Scotto, Editor-in-Chief of 0-60 Magazine emails me asking for some samples, I can simply send him this link. The other obvious reason for this blog is to create a sort of meta-blog...a blog comprised of other information from other blogs, as well as other features that I myself, find interesting- a Perez Hilton of the sort, for cars, only much less gossip and MS Paint pictures. I want this to be an entertaining resource for the automotive enthusiast. While I'm not sure how often I will be able to update, because of my responsibilities to my full-time job, I promise that I will do my best.

I hope to one day become an automotive journalist, and I believe that through blogger, this will be possible. Whether or not people decide to pick me up as a staff writer or freelancer, has yet to be determined. As my advisor in college said- Find something you love to do and you'll never have to go to work. I hope that this can be the case with cars.

One more thing- I don't proofread anything I write. I do a lazy skim of what I write, as that's simply how I operate. This technique has gotten me through 4 years at a top liberal arts college, so why should I chose to start, now? Oh, how I love the freedom of choice!
